The use of material mimics the human skin that implies impact of injury, bruising and a sign of healing. The work is installed in a table top where the viewer is able to flip through the stack of delicate papers. The work implies a sense of time because the handling of the paper takes time for one person to go through. Like bruises, scars and such feelings that implicates a simple human being takes time to heal.
Marks that are left on my body
It hurts to see the changes Happening before my eyes. It is uncertain of the outcomes, As it appears opaque, Seemingly permanent at all cause. It brings changes I am unable to control, It marks changes that are irreversible And it leaves me wondering If these marks are preventable. I struggle to accept, I am lost in the change, But I am still me, I am just bruising for a moment. Marks left on my body
They stay as scars Permanent marks of my struggle From physical and emotional endurance. They once exist as something undeniable, Maybe temporary But they permanently leave a stain, A remembrance of pain. They are memories That marks my existence. I may hate, cry, suffer and regret, But these scars show I am healing. |
